Ocean Blog Hop Reveal is here!

Well the day has finally arrived!  I have been working on my pieces for awhile.  As you recall I wasn't thrilled to get items that were orange because it happens to be my least favorite color,  haha.  Took me the longest time to get my mind wrapped around the colors and a beach theme. The focal is so cute and I just love the blues and pinks in it so I decided to add some turquoise and some shells to the mix.  As you can see in the first pictures the top two photo's are what I got in the package.  Thank you Lisa for stretching my creativity.

I remembered I had these cute little anchors in copper which I thought would go well with the colors so I figured out how to attach to the beads and have it lay right, which I gotta tell you turned out to be a little bit harder than I expected.  I tried to add copper wire guards but they weren't wide enough. Then I made this cute bracelet with a fish clasp and made three pairs of earrings all different so depending on how sassy you want to be you could get several looks.

These last two are close ups.  Don't you just love the cute sea shells in orange sea glass that hang from the first pair of earrings on the left.

  1. You might not like orange but I do have to say that you rocked it. And I will admit that I used to feel the same but lately I have really been drawn to the color. Go figure.

  3. Love your pieces - great job with those beads. I felt the same way about the orange in my kit but after working with it, I was glad she sent it because it was a good challenge for me.

  4. Oh, I love what you did. The orange is so great in your pieces. It's interesting so many people were dismayed by orange. I love orange, and everyone who wasn't sure what to do with it really did a great job. I LOVE how you used those anchors! The fish focal is great. Your earrings are all adorable.

  5. What a great jewelry collection you created, Marianne! So beachy and fun. The fish focal looks perfect with your pretty necklace. As far as the orange - I used to not care for it also. Now I use it frequently. Yes - that is my sneaky plan - to create a group of orange lovers one blog hop at a time. Glad you could participate in the hop!

  7. These are ultimate tropical colours, Marianne, and your pieces are so playful and cheerful :) You did a super job, especially considering you were uncomfortable with the orange components... way to get over that and design the heck out of it LOL.

  13. I think it's so funny how those of us with orange were stumped at first. I love the way you added turquoise to hightlight the focal. Fabulous designs!

  14. It's always fun to have to go out of your comfort zone and work with colors or materials you wouldn't normally choose. You did a great job with these fun beads and showcased the focal nicely. I had technical issues so getting a late start. Christie

  15. Hi Marianne, Your necklace is great. The copper anchors and fish focal made the orange seem very appropriate for the beach. My first designs for Znetshows I got orange and yellow sea glass (my two least favorite colors also) to work with and my first thoughts, just like yours, were or orange and beach don't go together but I also made it work.

  19. The blue beads really make that orange pop. When I saw your mix I was surprised how muted the orange looked in comparison to your finished design. What a fun set!
