A little Tease
These are a few things I added to Line's envelop of goodies. Some size 8 silver seed beads, some reddish orange triangle seed beads and some jasper beads. Wait till Saturday to see what I did. I never work in these colors so it was fun to tie in the elements she sent me. I used some wire for wire wrapping. That's all I am saying now.
What I sent my partner for Bead Soup Blog Party
Well the blue set is the one I sent my partner Line first but it took so long for her to get it, I sent her the purple set the day before she got the first one. The blue one's focal is all dichroic glass with a gold bail. The second one is various shades of purple and blue dichroic glass and has a hole through it in order to string beads on it. I can't wait to see what she comes up with! The big reveal is this Saturday 9-17. Check back soon.

Bead Soup Blog Party
Well I received my package from my partner Line Labrecque. She is in Toronto Canada and I am in California US. Really a fun pairing. I make fused glass and she works in Polymer Clay. This Bead Soup Blog Party is so much fun because it really forces you to get creative out of your comfort zone. My partner sent me the items above. I have to use the Toggle and the Focal. You can make jewelry or something else. You can make more than one piece. Line made the focal and the white and brown pieces. Very creative. The toggle is a cute little frog that I have never seen anywhere. I have never used these colors before.
The big reveal will be on September 17th of what we all made. I am close to being finished with one piece. I am doing the Studio Discovery Tour ( I am number 32 and also the Director) and this is the last weekend so I will have some creative time after this.

So many beads and so little time!
I have been so busy I just can't keep up!! What happened to the year. Right now I am getting ready for Art in the Redwoods, which is a huge art happening in my area. I have a booth there the weekend of August 20th. Then 2 weeks after that is the 19th annual Studio Discovery Tour. Wonderful event where hundreds of people come to your studio on Labor Day weekend and the weekend after. Last year was my first time doing the show in my studio even though I had been the Director for 4 years starting in 2003. This year I am the Director and showing my work in my studio. I have two other artists showing with me this year. Walt Rush works in Silver, gold and gems and David Donaldson is a photographer.
I have been working on a new line in my fused glass. This is one of the pieces. I recently sold one of the pieces to a woman in Wyoming who was visiting our town. I am very excited with the new glass and the new 5 layer technique. My website is not updated at all as I am totally out of inventory. I did a rather large show last month that wiped me out. Now trust me I am not complaining, its just that I feel like I am not keeping up.
I hope to start posting at least once a week so check back often.
Marianne
